Storyline

She is also the elder sister of twins Bobby and Betsy Ewing, as well as the half-sister of Molly Whittaker, though she has never interacted with her siblings onscreen. Her parents’ marriage failed due to her father’s drinking problem. Gary then abandoned Valene while Lucy was still an infant at Southfork Ranch. Valene planned to raise the child alone but was chased out of town by Gary’s older brother J.R. Ewing, who then returned Lucy to Southfork Ranch, where she was raised by her grandparents, Jock and Miss Ellie Ewing.

Tilton landed the role of Lucy Ewing, Larry Hagman’s befuddled niece, on Dallas at the age of 17. For the first eight seasons of the show, the two had incredible on-screen and off-screen chemistry. Her contract expired at the end of the eighth season, and she left the show. She returned in 1990 and stayed for two more seasons before leaving in 1990. Tilton kept in touch with Hagman and was concerned about her TV uncle’s declining health. When Hagman died in 2012 as a result of complications from myelodysplastic syndrome, she was devastated.She did not appear in any of the Dallas TV reunion films, but she did appear in Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork in 2004. She was the only Dallas cast member to attend Hag man’s 70th birthday party in September 2001.
