Chanel was introduced to television personality Rob Dyrdek, a mutual friend in 2008. When he was appearing on MTV’s Fantasy Factory, she was offered a position as his receptionist. She made her acting debut the same year in an episode of RJ Berger’s Rough Times. In 2012, in the animated series Wild Grinders, she started to voice the Flipz character. Chanel joined the supporting cast for season four of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood in 2017 and made ten appearances.
In 2009, Chanel started to record music and began collaborating with various artists. West Coast announced in 2011 that she had signed with Polow Da Don on his Zone 4 record label. In 2012, Lil Wayne signed Chanel to Young Money Entertainment, his label. In 2013, she went on to release her Now You Know mixtape. In August 2015, she released her second mixtape, WAVES, featuring YG and B-Real.
West Coast announced in 2014 that she had started recording her debut studio album, which would be released in 2016. She voiced Flipz, the only female skater in the Wild Grinders in the American animated television series Wild Grinders. She tends to challenge Lil’ Rob to skate in most of her appearances. Although she joins the Grinders, she was not shown at all times.
Storyline
The skateboard theme series shows the wild hijinks and antics of an enthusiastic and thrill-seeking pre-teen skateboarding Lil ‘Rob and his best friends: Meaty, a hip-edge bulldog; Goggles, the nerdy but faithful and kind-hearted best friend of Rob; and a host of many other neighborhood zany kids, as well as the majestic parents and older teenage sister of Lil’ Rob.
