During the early years of his career, he performed at several theaters in the New York area, including the legendary Catch a Rising Star and Who’s First, both now closed. She moved to Los Angeles with her husband Todd in 1987. Montgomery’s television debut began in Los Angeles. She has appeared in more than two television shows, including the Showtime comedy All-Stars 6 opposite Don Rickles and the politically incorrect series with Bill Maher. The San Antonio Times called Montgomery “one of the pioneers of modern women’s comics.”

Montgomery is also the producer of the New York Underground Comedy Festival, which in its heyday was dedicated to the advancement of the art of comedy. In 2010, Montgomery partnered with Armed Forces Entertainment to bring entertainment to America’s military overseas. He has traveled to more than ten countries, including Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Haiti, Honduras, Djibouti and Kosovo. When traveling abroad, he called himself “motherland”. Montgomery has directed and realized solo exhibitions such as Jim Florentine’s “I Am Your Savior” and Jim Mendrinos’ “The Bright Side of Death.” He recently produced two television specials: “Scent of Shangri-La” and “Paul Ogata: It’s All Lies.” Her latest project, Funny Ladies of the Day, premiered on Showtime Network in March 2019.
