Carlos Wizard Martin Career

He learned to speak English through interactions with church missionaries. Martins moved to the United States at the age of 18, where he worked briefly in Newark, New Jersey. Martins was a bishop before becoming a missionary for the church in Portugal. He returned to the United States at the beginning of the 1980s with his wife and young family to attend Brigham Young University and earn a degree in Computer Science and Statistics.

Martins was the president of the Brazil Joo Pessoa Mission from 2001 to 2005. Martins had been president of the Campinas Brazil Castelo Stake for a number of years prior to this.
