He is the author of What Were We Thinking: A Brief Intellectual History of the Trump Era, which will be published by Simon & Schuster in October 2020.Lozada joined Foreign Policy as an editor in 1999, eventually becoming the magazine’s managing editor. Lozada was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Business and Economics Journalism at Columbia University in New York from 2004 to 2005. In 2005, he joined The Washington Post as an economics editor, national security editor, and Outlook editor. In 2015, he was appointed as the paper’s nonfiction book reviewer. Lozada joined the University of Notre Dame faculty in 2009 as an adjunct professor for the Washington Program and taught an American Political Journalism module. In November 2019, he was elected to the Pulitzer Prize Board.
