Sykes gained the moniker “Busty Heart” in high school, when her swollen breasts had already formed. Her initial claim to fame came in 1986, when she was a spectator at a Boston Celtics game. She had been handed complimentary tickets to a Celtics game and was sitting close to NBA hopeful John Salley. When CBS cameras noticed Salley among the crowd, Sykes swayed her breasts toward the camera, disrupting Brent Musburger’s attention and causing him to giggle. Sykes, who was previously self-conscious about her enormous breasts and avoided public appearances as a result, quickly “parlayed 15 seconds of fame into a 30-year-career” and became a regular at Celtics games.
