Bruce Baum is an American comedian. His live act includes both prop comedy and standard stand-up material. One of his most well-known stand-up performances features his diaper-wearing Babyman persona. Baum is known for his big mustache, long hair, and striking likeness to musician David Crosby.

Baum played football at UCLA before transferring to the University of California, Davis, where he received more playing time. He received a political science degree at UC-Davis while also performing impromptu comedic routines at the campus library and dining hall. Bruce also worked as a singer/songwriter while attending UC Davis, performing tiny bars in and around Sacramento. He returned to UCLA to get a master’s degree in film, and while working on film school projects, he made friends with comedians Garry Shandling, Robin Williams, and Bob Saget. He began performing stand-up in 1977. He also made many appearances on the TV game program Make Me Laugh, which was revived in 1979-80.

In 1981, Baum, then known as Bruce “Baby Man” Baum, recorded the comedic song “Marty Feldman Eyes,” a parody of Kim Carnes’ hit “Bette Davis Eyes.”Baum served on the Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour panel many times between 1983 and 1984. In 1986, he co-starred alongside Dallas stars Jenilee Harrison and Audrey Landers in Bert Convy’s Super Password. Baum has been on numerous television shows since the early 1980s, including The Stockard Channing Show, Growing Pains, Full House, and Northern Exposure. He also featured as an animated version of himself on The Simpsons, appearing in the episode “The Last Temptation of Krusty” alongside Jay Leno, Janeane Garofalo, Steven Wright, and Bobcat Goldthwait.
