After her performance in the series, Burns became a household name.
In 2001, she made her film debut as Katrina in the American romantic comedy film ‘Shallow Hal.’ The film was directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly and starred Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow.

She received a ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ nomination for ‘Outstanding Game Show Host’ at the 41st ‘Daytime Emmy Awards’ for her impressive hosting abilities.
