In 2006, KSFO sent stop-and-desist orders to a blogger known online as “Spocko” who posted audio samples of Sussman and other KSFO hosts online in an attempt to persuade advertisers to drop KSFO. Sussman labeled then-US Senator Barack Obama a “Halfrican” and challenged a caller to repeat that Allah was a “whore” among the audio clips. Sussman apologized for both comments on his January 12, 2007 broadcast, but called Spocko’s online release of audio samples from his show “a gross abuse of the First Amendment.” Spocko’s blog was taken down, and Bank of America and MasterCard stopped advertising on KSFO.

After publishing audio of Sussman telling a gay caller, “your specific breed can’t reproduce,” Spocko drove advertisers away from KSFO once more in 2009. The Lifetime television network and Beach Blanket Babylon both dropped their commercials from the station. Sussman switched from nights to morning drive full-time on KSFO on February 19, 2010, following the retirement of Lee Rodgers; Sussman had hosted the morning show on Mondays. Sussman was chastised by SF Weekly in April 2011 for pushing Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories despite the revelation of Obama’s “doctored” long-form birth certificate.

Melanie Morgan was Sussman’s co-host from 2012 to 2013. Sussman was named the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame’s Don Sherwood Award winner for most popular radio personality of the year in 2018. Sussman started two podcasts on his website in 2018: Hidden Headlines, which examines news and culture while promoting “faith, family, and freedom,” and Another Chance, which features interviews with people who “have personally experienced a miraculous reboot.” Sussman took medical leave in October 2019 and retired on January 15, 2020, due to health difficulties. Sussman has been a guest host on The Savage Nation and The Mark Levin Show in addition to his KSFO show.
