Collins worked as a substitute teacher at Buffalo High School for a year and then worked at Calvin Klein in New York City’s Garment District while pursuing a career as a night dancer. Collins first worked at the Capturing Rising Stars Comedy Club on New York City’s Upper East Side, then continued performing around the city and New Jersey. She opened for artists such as Frank Sinatra, Cher, Julio Iglesias, Tony Bennett and Dolly Parton. Collins has also appeared in many films and TV shows, including the 2010 documentary “I’m a Comic.” She succeeds Rosie O’Donnell as host of VH-1’s Stand-Up Spotlight TV show.
As of 2011, Collins performs in over 200 shows each year in the United States. She works regularly on XM Satellite Radio she.
