Blaine Harold Capatch is an American stand-up comedian and writer. He is best known for hosting the second season of Comedy Central’s game show Beat the Geeks.

Capatch was born in York, Pennsylvania, to Jean and Harold Capatch. He was raised in the small hamlet of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, where his father owned and operated a barbershop. He attended Dallastown Area High School and graduated in 1983. Following high school, he attended York College of Pennsylvania.

Career
He started performing stand-up in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Charm City comedy club. Capatch and his then-comedy sidekick Patton Oswalt worked as sketch writers for MADtv in its early years. He has also written for The Martin Short Show, Blue Collar TV, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Mind of Mencia, Web Soup, and Comedy Central’s Roast of Roseanne Barr, among others. He presented Beat the Geeks, a comedy quiz show on the Comedy Channel, from 2001 to 2002. The show aired 130 episodes and was televised internationally in Canada and New Zealand following its original run.Since 2002, he has hosted Lucha VaVOOM, a live burlesque/Mexican wrestling performance in Los Angeles, California. Since 2005, he has been the live announcer for the Los Angeles Derby Dolls.
Capatch appears in the 2007 film “Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubador”. From 2008 until 2014, he presented What’s Up Tiger Lily, a weekly comedy show developed by Maria Bamford and Melinda Hill in Los Angeles, California. Since November 28, 2012, he has been on Brian Posehn’s podcast Nerd Poker. Capatch worked as a writer for Comedy Central’s @Midnight, presented by Chris Hardwick, between 2013 and 2017.
