Bill Evans( born William Howard Evans) is an American meteorologist and former weathercaster for WABC-TV, an ABC station in New York City. Evans began his broadcasting career at the age of 13 on Meridian, Mississippi’s WDAL Radio and WTOK-TV.

Career

Before coming to New York, Evans was a meteorologist at WALA-TV in Mobile, Ala., and a morning show host at WABB-FM. He also held similar positions in Dallas, both as a meteorologist at WFAA-TV and as a morning show host at KHYI-FM. Evans is the senior weather reporter for All Day Eyewitness News and Afternoon Eyewitness News. He currently works at WLNG News. Evans is a 15-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding On-Camera Performance in Live Broadcasting. He worked at WABC-TV from December 13, 1989 to February 5, 2019. Evans was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2016. She played in Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular for many years. Evans also appeared on Broadway as Lumiere (Candlestick) in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

He has also appeared on ESPN SportsCenter and The Michael Kay Show on ESPN NY Radio 98.7 FM. Evans has appeared on Discovery Channel’s “How Things Work” and “Staying With Kelly and Ryan.” Evans also broadcasts on New York City 95.5, WPLJ-FM and sister stations NASH FM 94.7 and 77WABC. Evans and his wife, Sandra Foschi, purchased WLNG on December 14, 2018, in Sag Harbor, New York.Evans helps raise money for Columbia Presbyterian Infant Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes, Junior Achievement and the National Youth Institute. It also hosts golf tournaments to raise money for the New Jersey Red Cross and New York Special Olympics.

Author- Books

Marianna Jameson co-wrote Evans’ debut book, Category 7: The Biggest Storm in History. Evans used a book tour in 2007 to promote the piece. The narrative centers on “weather folk” monitoring a hurricane as it makes its way into New York City. It turns out that a billionaire villain manufactured and controlled the hurricane. Evans has since published further books in the “eco-thriller” genre, such as “Blackmail Earth,” “Dry Ice,” “Frozen Fire,” and a follow-up to “Category 7.” Additionally, Evans wrote the children’s weather book “It’s Raining Fish & Spiders.”.
