Sterling lived and worked in Chicago for five years until 2012, when she moved to Los Angeles after releasing her debut single, Sweet Beth. He made his television appearance on Conan in 2014 and was named “Comedian to Watch” by Out magazine in 2016. The same year, he appeared in an episode of Outdoor Comedy, which was shown at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Sterling has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, @midnight, Last Call with Carson Daly, The UCB Show, The Pete Holmes Show and We Can performing “Fix You”. In 2015, he aired a special episode on the Comedy Central series Half Hour. Her latest comedy album, Simply the Beth, was named one of the best comedy specials of 2015 by Vulture. She also starred in Showtime’s SXSW comedy special. Sterling tours theater events, colleges, and festivals; her one-hour Daughter’s Special, Father, premiered on HBO Max on August 20, 2020, and she had a recurring role on the Peacock sitcom Rutherford Falls in 2021. It aired for two seasons.
