Barbara Lynch Restaurants – Career

Lynch began working with Todd English in 1989. She accepted her first executive chef position in the early 1990s at Rocco’s, an Italian restaurant in Boston’s theater district. She returned to Boston after touring Italy and was appointed executive chef at the trattoria Galleria Italiana, where she later won Food & Wine’s “Ten Best New Chefs in America” award.

No. 9 Park, near the Boston Common and the Massachusetts State House, was her first restaurant, which opened in 1998. Lynch opened what she considers to be one of her few failures in 2006. Plum Produce on Waltham Street in Boston’s South End was the location.
