Babita Sharma Career
She graduated from the University of Wales with a degree in journalism, film, and broadcasting. Sharma began her career with BBC Radio Wales and Thames Valley Television after completing her education. She relocated to Dubai, where she worked on the radio for Channel 4 FM and Ajman TV, where she hosted a weekly music show. She returned to the UK in 2003 and began her BBC career as a travel presenter and producer at BBC Radio Berkshire. She then moved to the BBC South Today newsroom in Southampton, where she reported and produced for the station. She moved on to BBC Spotlight Channel Islands in 2007, where she worked as a video journalist and evening bulletin presenter.
Sharma joined the BBC News Channel in 2008, initially as a host of the Your Money program. She took over the main business role in early 2009, and then moved to the BBC News Channel and BBC World News in her current full-time presenting role.
