She would later fill in for Stephanie Mills as Dorothy in the original Broadway run of The Wiz. She played Lorrell Robinson in the first national touring company of Dreamgirls in 1983. Walker later appeared in the show’s second national and international touring companies, as well as the 1987 Broadway revival.
