Aras Baskauskas Survivor

In “Survivor,” Baskauskas, a young man from Panama’s Exile Island, was originally a member of the Viveros tribe. However, he became a member of the Casaya tribe through a tribal swap early on, where he forged an early alliance with Shane Powers, Courtney Marit, and Danielle DiLorenzo. The former members of the Casaya tribe—himself, Powers, Marit, DiLorenzo, Bruce Kenagai, and Cirie Fields—had a numerical advantage over the four members of the La Mina tribe when the tribes merged. Terry Deitz, who won nearly all of the immunity challenges, was the only member of the former La Mina tribe who was not voted out by the former Casaya members.

DiLorenzo was the target of Baskauskas and Powers when the alliance had nowhere else to turn but to each other. Marit, Deitz, and Baskauskas wanted to oust DiLorenzo. Fields devised a strategy of her own and, along with Baskauskas and DiLorenzo, voted out Marit, followed by Powers. She was dissatisfied with any of these options. Baskauskas obtained immunity at the challenge’s final four rounds. Dietz was safe as well because it was widely known that he possessed the idol of hidden immunity. DiLorenzo and Fields competed in a fire-building challenge to determine their fate, and their scores were tied at 2–2. Fields were eliminated when the challenge was won by DiLorenzo.

DiLorenzo defeated the two men to win immunity in the final immunity challenge, granting her the right to select her opponent for the Final Two. DiLorenzo ultimately decided to get rid of Dietz, making him the last judge and sending Baskauskas to the Final Two. Baskauskas slipped on a wet rock on Day 39 while he and DiLorenzo were walking on the rocks by the ocean. He fell, shattering glass in his hand and back. The medical team had to stitch him up, but there was no medical evacuation. With the support of Austin Carty, Sally Schumann, Marit, Fields, and Deitz, Baskauskas prevailed over DiLorenzo to win the title of Sole Survivor by a score of 5–2 in the final vote.

For the show’s 27th season, Baskauskas returned: Together with his older brother, Vytas, in Blood vs. Water. Aras and fellow returning players Tyson Apostol and Gervase Peterson, as well as newcomers Hayden Moss, Caleb Bankston, and Ciera Eastin, were added to the new Tadhana tribe following a tribe swap. Apostol rallied all of the other tribe members into an alliance in order to eliminate Aras in 11th place, making him the tenth person eliminated from Survivor: Panama.

This was due to his performance in Panama as well as the fact that he was the only tribe member who still had a loved one in the game. The first member of the jury and Blood vs. Water. The merge occurred shortly thereafter, and Apostol’s alliance also defeated Vytas, putting them in 10th place. Aras voted for Apostol to win the $1 million prize in the final tribal council, while Vytas was the only jury member to vote for Monica Culpepper instead of Apostol.
