She then worked as a chef at Spago and Foxtail in Los Angeles. Lofaso is the co-owner and executive chef of Black Market Liquor Bar, DAMA, and Scopa Italian Roots in Los Angeles. Lofaso was a contestant on season four of the competition series Top Chef, also known as Top Chef: Chicago, in 2008, finishing in fourth place. She finished third on season eight of Top Chef, renamed Top Chef: All-Stars, from 2010 to 2011. In 2014, she competed on Top Chef Duels against Mike Isabella, who had beaten her on Top Chef: All-Stars; she won the “duel.”

In 2012, Lofaso appeared on the Game Show Network’s Beat the Chefs as one of three professional chefs against whom the amateur chef contestants had to compete. The series lasted four episodes.
