Angie worked the weekend anchor desk at WLNS-TV in Lansing, Mich., before joining the ABC12 news team as a general assignment reporter. Angie received the Michigan Emmy Award for Best News Anchor in 2020. She won her second national Edward R. Murrow Award in the Hard News category in 2019 for her coverage of the Flint Water Crisis family.
Her first national Edward R. Murrow Award for hard news reporting was for a story on Baby Court, a Genesee County program that aims to reunite broken families. The series also received two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, two Emmy Awards, the Toni House Journalism Award from the American Judicature Society, and the Wade H. McCree Jr. Award for Justice Advancement.
During her time at ABC12, Angie has received ten Emmys and numerous Associated Press and MAB honors, including an Emmy and a Regional Murrow award for her investigation into the child abuse death of Dominick Calhoun, who was four years old at the time.
Angie was awarded the National Association of Broadcasters Service to Community Award in 2019 for co-founding the Flint Diaper Bank, which provides over 1 million diapers to the community each year. For her community contribution, she was also inducted into the Genesee Regional Women’s Hall of Fame.
She presently serves on the Board of Directors of Voices for Children, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and assisting survivors in reclaiming their childhood. She is also a member of the Shelter of Flint’s board of directors.
