Prior to going to New Orleans, she was an anchor and associate news director at KGBT-TV, a CBS affiliate in Harlingen, Texas. In April 1975, Angela Hill was employed as the consumer reporter for WWL-TV, a CBS station in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. In September 1975, Hill became WWL-TV’s first female anchor. She co-anchored the 5 and 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. For numerous years, she was paired with anchor Garland Robinette, with whom she married from 1978 until 1987. During her 38-year tenure with WWL-TV, Hill traveled to Paris, London, Beirut, China, Africa, and Rome to present news and make documentaries. In 1984, she played a reporter in the film Tightrope.

Angela Hill founded and hosted the daily talk show The Angela Show in 1989. The Angela Show began in 1989 and concluded in 1996. The Angela Show broadcast 1,668 episodes.  Hill interviewed prominent actors, novelists, fashion designers, musicians, and politicians, including Danny Thomas, Oprah Winfrey, Anne Rice. Bill Clinton, Cokie Roberts, Lindy Boggs David Thomas, Willie Nelson; Tommy Hilfiger; Roberta Flack; John Goodman;  Oscar de la Renta. Angela Hill has received national recognition for her services as an American journalist.
