O’Keefe began presenting Seven’s new game show, The Chase Australia, in 2015. O’Keefe’s contract with the Seven Network expired at the end of 2020, and he was replaced as host of The Chase Australia by Larry Emdur.
Andrew O’Keefe Deal or No Deal
He hosted Deal or No Deal Australian game show. The Australian game show Deal or No Deal aired on the Seven Network from July 13, 2003 to October 4, 2013. After the original Dutch Miljoenenjacht, this was the first international version of the game show. The name “Deal or No Deal” was used for the first time in this version. Throughout its entire ten-year run, Andrew O’Keefe served as its host.
Deal or No Deal underwent numerous modifications during its run. These included, among others, transforming from a week by week organization to an everyday configuration, which brought about the decrease of the top award from $2,000,000 to $200,000; interactive elements that allow viewers at home to participate in “Double Deal Friday” also, extra unique elements added to the game, (for example, “Twofold or Nothing” and “Super Case”). Andrew O’Keefe Arrested – Charges
In January 2021, O’Keefe was captured and accused of abusive behavior at home and normal attack against his accomplice. NSW Police requested an interim order of apprehended violence against O’Keefe on behalf of his partner. O’Keefe was cleared of the charges in June 2021 after the community magistrate discovered that he was in a hypomanic-bipolar state at the time of the offense. He was requested to finish a concentrated psychological well-being treatment program.
O’Keefe was taken into custody by the police in September 2021 for a number of domestic violence-related offenses, including assault and breaking an apprehended violence order. O’Keefe was arrested on January 27, 2022, for allegedly punching and kicking a woman at his unit in Sydney after grabbing her by the throat, knocking her to the ground, and kicking her. He was subsequently declined bail seven days after his capture.
He entered a guilty plea to the charge of possessing 1.5 grams of marijuana on February 11, 2022. He has a long history of chronic drug use, including cocaine and methamphetamine.
O’Keefe failed a drug test on May 4, 2022, and was denied bail and sentenced to five months in prison. The judge said, “There will be a disdain reference except if he withdraws and apologizes for his way of behaving”. O’Keefe was granted bail in the Supreme Court of New South Wales on May 23 with the strict condition that he spend up to a year in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Swan Bay, north of Sydney. Equity Hulme said O’Keefe had long battled with emotional wellness issues and that restoration was a “great open door” for him. After pleading guilty to one charge of possessing 1.6 grams of cannabis, he will be sentenced in June 2022 at the Downing Centre Local Court.
O’Keefe was detained once more at his Vaucluse residence on November 24, 2022, for allegedly violating the terms of his bail, which had been in place for months. O’Keefe was taken into custody on April 6, 2023, for drug driving.
