Better Things
She appeared as Sunny, Sam’s newly divorced best friend in the American comedy-drama television series Better Things. Sam Fox is a working actress with three daughters, middle-aged husbands, and an eccentric mother. She attempts to avoid pregnancy while dealing with her daughters’ bad behavior and her mother’s quirkiness. Sam’s acting career allows her to spend valuable time with her best friend Sunny and less enjoyable time with Sunny’s husband Jeff. She also goes on a date with an African-American man, but their supper is marred by bigotry from Grandma Phil.
Sam is briefly considered for a main sitcom part, but her agent is unaware of it. A fire alarm causes havoc in the house, while a feminist event at Frankie’s school brings her and Sam closer together. Sam confronts hurdles from coworkers, her ex, a phony admirer, and Sunny’s spouse Jeff. However, additional engagement with an inebriated Phil results in some good work and cheer for Sam and her kids. Max’s behavior toward Sam intensifies, and Frankie determines that there is no God. Sam advises Harvey, Max’s lover, not to trust him around her kid. They play pranks, until Harvey dumps Max. Sam brings Max and her friend to a Joe Walsh performance, when surprising details are revealed.
Orange Is the New Black
She portrays Natalie “Fig” Figueroa in Orange Is the New Black. Natalie Figueroa (often known as Fig) is a key character and the former executive assistant to the warden at Litchfield Penitentiary and currently the current warden of Litchfield’s ICE detainment center. She is the Tertiary antagonist of Season One and the Secondary antagonist of Season Two. She becomes an anti-hero in subsequent seasons.
Natalie Figueroa is characterized in the series as confident, professional, and arrogant, with a tendency to manipulate both convicts and staff. She is also seen as a big supporter of the prison’s reputation, dressed in nice clothing and driving a Mercedes convertible. Her manipulativeness stems from her role in her husband’s misappropriation of funds for his state senate race. After a campaign event, she appears physically and emotionally weakened. In Season 2, she discovers she has bulimia and anorexia, which she verifies in Season 6. Following her husband’s adultery, she begins having “hate sex” with Caputo, but later reveals a sensitive and loving side. By Season Seven, Figueroa has evolved into a different persona, displaying more tenderness and concern for others. She is supportive of Tamika Ward and even expresses kindness to others, yet her nasty conduct continues.
