Age

She is 62 years old as of 13 June 2023. She was born in 1962 in New York, New York, United States. Her real name is Alexandra Elizabeth Sheedy.

Family – Education

Sheedy has a brother and a sister. Her mother, Charlotte (née Baum), is a writer and press agent who was active in the women’s and civil rights organizations, and her father, John J. Sheedy Jr., is a Manhattan advertising executive. Sheedy’s mother is Eastern European Jewish, and her father is of Irish Catholic descent. Her maternal grandmother was from Odessa, Ukraine. When she was six years old, she began dancing with the American Ballet Theatre with the intention of pursuing a full-time career. She abandoned dancing, nevertheless, and began studying acting with Harold Guskin. She was twelve when she penned She Was Nice to Mice, a best-seller. In 1975, she made an appearance on the game show To Tell the Truth. She relocated to Los Angeles at the age of eighteen, enrolling in the University of Southern California’s drama program. Sheedy started her acting career while pursuing a BFA degree, which required three years of coursework.

Husband – Children

Sheedy dated Bon Jovi’s guitarist, Richie Sambora, for less than a year in the 1980s. She claimed in the Los Angeles Times that the romance pushed her to misuse narcotics, which Sambora rejected. Sheedy was admitted to the Hazelden Foundation in 1985 and received treatment for a sleeping pill addiction in the 1990s, which she used to inform her portrayal of a drug-addicted photographer in High Art.

Sheedy married actor David Lansbury on April 12, 1992. He is the nephew of Angela Lansbury and the son of Edgar Lansbury, the original producer of Godspell. Their son, Beckett, was born in 1994. Single Drunk Female

She appeared as Carol, Samantha’s mother in the American comedy television series Single Drunk Female. Samantha Fink, an alcoholic, has just one chance to avoid incarceration following a humiliating public meltdown. She needs to stay sober and move back in with her demanding mother Carol. Samantha returns to the Boston region and attempts to make the best of her position. However, this is easier said than done. Samantha is confronted with the ghosts of her past, which led her to alcoholism. And then there’s Samantha’s mother, who was conspicuous by her absence when she was younger but now meddles in everything and gives her wise counsel. Samantha is initially hesitant to go on a new journey, but when her childhood best friend Brit reveals shocking news, Samantha realizes that her partying lifestyle cannot continue.

Psych

She had a recurrent role as a mad criminal, Mr. Yang, on the USA Network original series Psych, appearing in the episodes “An Evening with Mr. Yang”, “Mr. Yin Presents…”, “Yang 3 in 2D”, and (briefly) “Psych: The Musical”. Yang (also known as Ms. Rotmensen) is a serial killer who first appeared in “An Evening with Mr. Yang”. She reappeared in both “Mr. Yin Presents…” and “Yang 3 in 2D”. She was slain in “Psych: The Musical” while saving Shawn’s life. She is played by Ally Sheedy.

Mr. Yang is a serial murderer who murdered her first victim in 1995; her old partner, Mr. Yin, was also implicated. Over the next 14 years, she murdered two more people, but her name was never disclosed. Yang met Shawn when she was nine years old and they had a discussion. Yang persuaded Shawn’s mother to take a photo of them together, which ruined their relationship. Shawn did not recall the episode until 22 years later, but Yang grew attached to him, probably because his happiness introduced her to a stable household.

Yang’s narrative concludes in “Yang 3 in 2D”. It is revealed that Yin is her father, and while she frequently assisted him, she has never killed any of the victims herself. She never intended to be a serial murderer and preferred a life of family and friendship, much like Shawn’s. In the end, her father becomes her first real victim. Yang informs Shawn that she will remain in prison for the duration of the Yin/Yang killings, with no knowledge of life outside.
