She also worked with EF Hutton as a broker. Walton formed the Llama Company, an investment bank, in 1988 and served as its president, chairperson, and CEO. Walton served as the inaugural head of the Northwest Arkansas Council and was instrumental in the building of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, which opened in 1998. Northwest Arkansas Council’s business and civic leaders saw a need for the $109 million regional airports in their corner of the state at the time.
Walton and her mother used to go camping and paint watercolors. Julia Bryant, the daughter of Romantic poet and New York newspaper owner William Cullen Bryant, who is represented in the painting with Cole, donated the 1849 artwork, a tribute to Hudson River School painter Thomas Cole, to the New York Public Library in 1904.
