In the show, a group of five celebrities, mostly comedians, compete in a series of challenges, with Horne acting as umpire in each challenge and Davies, the eponymous “Taskmaster,” grading the work and assigning points depending on contestants’ performances. Horne devised the concept for the show in 2010 for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; he later got a deal with Dave to adapt it for television, with the first episode showing in 2015. Channel 4 purchased the show after the ninth season in 2019.

Alice Levine 8 out of 10 cats

Levine made an appearance on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats in 2012. 8 Out of 10 Felines is an English satire board show broadcast on Channel 4 and its sister organizations, circulating since 3 June 2005. The show is facilitated by Jimmy Carr; Rob Beckett and Katherine Ryan are the team captains at the moment.

The show is based on statistics and opinion polls. It uses polls from a variety of organizations as well as new polls that Harris Poll commissioned specifically for the show. The phrase “8 out of 10 owners (later ads added “who expressed a preference”) said their cats prefer it” was used as the title of an old popular misquotation of a well-known advertisement for Whiskas cat food. The Channel 4 network has both new and old episodes, and Dave and Comedy Central also show old episodes.
