She appeared on the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in September 2021, partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington. They topped the leaderboard in their first week with a score of 34, and again in week 7 when they scored 39 for their Charleston to “Don’t Bring Lulu”. The couple also topped the semi-final leaderboard but were forced to withdraw from the competition on the 17th of December, the day before the final, after Odudu tore a ligament in her right ankle.

AJ Odudu Career

Odudu began her career as a BBC Blast reporter based at Radio Lancashire. Her first presenting roles were on the BBC Two series The Almost Perfect Guide to Life in 2009, and on The 5:19 Show, an online show on the BBC website, in 2010, having previously served as the latter’s ‘raving reporter’. In 2010, she appeared on Channel 4’s one-off special 100 Greatest Toys. She appeared in Comedy Lab as herself in 2011 and co-hosted Sky Arts’ coverage of the Isle of Wight Festival in 2012.

Odudu began presenting Big Brother’s Bit on the Side with Rylan Clark-Neal and Emma Willis in June 2013, followed by Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Psych in August 2013. Her departure from the show was announced in November 2013, and she was replaced by Carol McGiffin, a Celebrity Big Brother 12 contestant and former Loose Women panellist. Odudu launched her own blog on Hello magazine’s UK website in August 2013. Odudu co-hosted the 4Music show Trending Live! with Jimmy Hill and Vick Hope from 2015 to 2019.

In March and April 2019, she hosted the online Facebook quiz game “Confetti” on a regular basis. She won the second series of Celebrity Karaoke Club on ITV2 in July 2021.
