Adina Verson Only Murders in the Building
She appeared as Becky Butler, alias Poppy White in Season 1 and a main character in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. She was formerly Cinda Canning’s aide and was subsequently found to be Bunny Folger’s killer.Living with her sick and violent father and working for the mayor—who is suspected of abusing her—Becca had a dull and dismal life in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She enjoyed listening to Cinda Canning’s podcasts as well. She made the decision to change her identity and vanish one day after her employer persuaded her to stay at his office and have a drink with him.
After cutting and coloring her hair, Poppy White headed to New York and asked Cinda Canning to collaborate on a podcast about her disappearance. Together, they returned to Oklahoma, where Poppy reunited with Daniel Kreps, with whom she had been dating, and he assisted in gathering evidence to have the mayor declared guilty of her murder even though her body had never been discovered.
Poppy told Mabel Mora, Charles-Haden Savage, and Oliver Putnam that Cinda had won the Peabody in 2018 and 2020 when Cinda met with them to offer advice on their podcast. Cinda informed them that Cinda was being bought as she was on the phone discussing a sale. Those who witnessed Mabel, Charles, and Oliver being taken into custody after being discovered in possession of Bunny Fogler’s body included Poppy and Cinda. As they passed, Poppy up a boom mic and declared, “Coming this Fall: Only Murderers in the Building,” a statement for which Cinda instantly took credit.
Cinda felt that a fresh “All Is Not OK” was necessary to compete with the trio’s podcast and prevent them from being a one-hit wonder, after they released their own regarding Tim Kono’s death. Poppy proposed creating a podcast regarding Rose Cooper’s vanishing, but Cinda was desperate for a murder and wasn’t willing to wait for one to come her way. After that, Poppy made the decision to act independently and killed Bunny in order to write a narrative for their podcast.
