Since 2013, Flannery has performed with Jane Lynch as her partner in See Jane Sing with Tim Davis, and Tony Gray Toured with the Tony Guerrero Quintet, performing at the Kennedy Center, Joe’s Pub, the Borgata, and in 30 cities.
Flannery starred in the New York hit Nora Ephron’s “Love, Loss, and What I Wear.” She also played Neely O’Hara in the 1996 Off-Broadway hit Valley of the Dolls, based on the 1967 film. It ran at the Circle Theatre in New York City and Los Angeles. She also played a young prostitute and Blair’s sister in The Truth About Life at the Lemberg Theatre in Los Angeles, and in the Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner production Three Feet Under the Evidence Room. Jane Lynch’s Christmas album with Kate Flannery, A Swingin’ Little Christmas, peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. Flannery also appeared on The Jay Leno Show during the burger chain’s 40th anniversary, portraying Wendy in a sketch. She appeared in 19 episodes of Game of Thrones and two episodes of Hollywood Game Nights on The Jane Lynch Show. Flannery also appeared on “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” and hosted two seasons of “Standup in Stilettos” on the TV Guide Network. She is the musical director of the Los Angeles Drama Club and teaches Shakespeare to children and teenagers.
In 2016, she played the role of the nanny Sandy on ABC’s American Housewife, the nanny in an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and appeared on Fox’s New Girl and MTV’s Marie + Jane, and in 2017, as Barbara “Barb” Miller on Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe. Flannery is a member of the band Mono Puff, who goes by the stage name “Lady Puff”. She tours with the group and sings two songs called It’s Fun Business. In 2019, it was announced that Flannery would be a contestant on Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars, where she was paired with Pasha Pashkov, who was making her professional debut, and was eliminated in fifth place. It was announced that Flannery will star in the film Plan B in 2022, alongside Jon Heder, Tom Berenger, and Shannon Elizabeth. In 2024, Flannery competed on the eleventh season of “The Masked Singer” as “Starfish”. She starred as “Uncomfortable Shirt” in “Queen’s Night Out” opposite Charlie Wilson.
