He is the son of actor John Carradine and actress Sonia Sorel (née Henius). Actors Robert Carradine and Christopher Carradine are his full brothers. Bruce and David Carradine are his paternal half-brothers. Michael Bowen is his mother’s half-brother. The biologist Max Henius was his maternal great-grandfather, while the historian Johan Ludvig Heiberg’s sister was his maternal great-grandmother.

American actor Carradine played John Dorie Sr. in the television series Fear the Walking Dead on AMC. In AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, John Francis Dorie V, also referred to as John Dorie Sr., is a prominent character and one of the outbreak survivors. John Dorie’s father is him.
John is a flawed but kind man who is committed to atone for his previous transgressions, including helping to put the vicious killer Theodore Maddox behind prison. John confesses to planting a walkie-talkie on Howard after baby Mo disappears, but Victor finds it funny and John gets assigned as Strand’s new right-hand man.
