Marty registers for basketball tryouts during the Lunar New Year, but they are not selected. Compared to Jonah and Andi, they end up connecting more and have stronger chemistry. Buffy declines to be Marty’s girlfriend even though he tells her that he enjoys being her virtual reality boyfriend and would like to see them become a genuine couple.

In Season 3, Buffy unexpectedly calls Marty and apologizes for their previous relationship. For the first time since Buffy phoned, they really get to meet up. They decide to rekindle their friendship after Marty admits he is dating and rejoins the cross-country squad.

When Cyrus leaves to be with TJ, Buffy enlists Marty for the Mount Rushmore costume, and they look delighted when they go to get their photo taken. Marty and Buffy reunite at the end of the series after a protracted separation.

Terry Randolph declared in 2019 that he will pass away in seven to eight months due to a brain tumor, and that the treatment had failed. Oscar made the decision to go to The Catacombs and have seizures for the remainder of his life. Oscar, Josslyn, Trina, and Cameron went to Niagara Falls in March 2019 to talk about his mother’s possible relationship with a serial killer. Oscar suffered a major seizure on April 4, 2019, which resulted in him falling down a bridge.He was taken to General Hospital after being saved. Monica proposed that they enjoy their final days as a family.Oscar died in his sleep on April 29, 2019, and was escorted into heaven by his great-grandparents.

They go on a virtual reality double date, and Marty tells Buffy that he loves being her virtual reality boyfriend and wants them to become a real couple.

Marty discovers Buffy collapsing from dehydration during Hammer Time and tells her not to escape. After walking away for a little while, he comes back, claiming that Buffy was trying to see if he would genuinely pick the marathon over her. Rather than walking her to the finish line, Marty carries her so they can cross together. Marty and Buffy form a deep bond and get closer over the series. They ultimately resolve to maintain their friendships and not become a couple, despite this.
