Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese American stand-up comedian who worked as a staff writer on the ABC comedy Fresh Off the Boat between 2015 and 2018. Wang’s credits include Fresh Off the Boat (2015), The Comedian (2016), and Adventure Time: Distant Lands (2020).

After graduating, Wang began performing in San Francisco and New York. Wang was a featured performer at the 2007 Montreal Comedy Festival. On January 28, 2011, Comedy Central Presents aired its first 30-minute special on national television. In January 2011, he was awarded the grand prize in NBCUniversal’s seventh annual “Stand Up” comedy competition, which included a one-year studio hosting position. In 2012, Wang appeared on Comedy Central’s John Oliver New York talk show. He competed in the 2015 Winter Finals and placed in the top 10. Wang released an album in 2015 called Cornucopias Is the Best of Fear.
He played “Hank” in two episodes. In 2019, Wang appeared in HBO’s special 2 Dope Queens. He also performed for co-star John Mulaney at the opening night of Clusterfest 2019. He released his first Netflix special, Sweet & Juicy, in September 2022. This is the first feature film directed by Huang Ali. The work was widely praised when it was published: The New York Times noted that Wang’s “humor and spirit allow her to focus more effectively on the body and the creative realm.” Wang Sheng lives in Los Angeles, California. She cites Maria Bamford, Dave Attell, and Robert Hawkins as influences, and her work is often compared to that of Mitch Hedberg.
