Greg Travis is an American comedian and actor. Greg has been a natural actor and award-winning stage performer since the age of 12. Greg has worked with A-list directors such as Zack Snyder, David Lynch, Paul Verhoeven, Bob Rafelson, and Milos Forman during the course of his 30-year career, earning well over 70 professional credits.

Greg Career
Greg started performing stand-up comedy at the Improv Comedy Store while attending film school. Six months later, he appeared on “America’s Rising Stars.” This led to him appearing regularly at “The Bud Friedman Improv.” Ellen special and “Unscripted Evenings.” He began taking on small roles in movies and television while developing a strong stand-up routine that brought him to the helm of every major theater company in the country. In 1986, he created comedy sketches for “Saturday Night Live” and became a regular at “The Evening Improv,” where he performed with stars such as James Brown, Tom Jones and Dolly Parton. In 1990, Greg participated in the Rodney Dangerfield HBO special that made his Punk Magic show famous. This led to a stint as the opening act on Cher’s East Coast tour.
Greg has appeared on television programs such as Surprise, Late Night, Sunday Funny, Showtime Comedy Nights, Comedy Club Network, Comics Live, Improv Night, Entry Night, The Tonight Show, Comedy Central and Lewis Blake’s “The Inside Root of All Evil”. Travis played the role of Phil Newkirk in the film Showgirls. “Showgirls” was followed by films such as “Lost Highway”, “Starship Troopers”, “Poodle Springs” and “Man in the Moon”. Travis also created and starred in a show called “Weird America”, in which he portrayed seven different characters in make-up and costume, much to the delight of Lord Buckley. He also received critical acclaim for his role as Andy Warhol in the stage production of Girl of the Year. Travis has appeared in a variety of television programs, including “CSI Miami”, “Strong Medicine” and “Cold Disease”. Travis has worked with directors such as David Lynch, Paul Verhoeven, Bob Rafelson and Milo Forman. His most recent roles include Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, the role of Andy Warhol in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, Night of the Living Dead 3D, and Sex and the Death 101.
After film school, Greg began making short films in New York with his friend David Daniel. Together they made Last Tango in Poland, Carlos the Artist, Now in 1984, Double Exposure, The Unpleasant and the Unsatisfied, The Stranger, Now Who, Hildegard, and The Fine Line of Charlie James. In 1984, Greg teamed up with Steve Bischart to write and direct the 16mm black-and-white feature noir Dark Seduction, starring Tyler Horn as Detective Dic Jones; Victoria Hughie plays the vampire Vera. Gregg went on to make short films including “Preparation Day”, “Last Day”, “Family Life”, “Super Junkies of Punk” and “Captain Cormac, the Dead Answer to the World” with friends The Texan and Louis Ross on board.
In 1986, Greg produced the short film “Andy Warhol’s 15 Workouts” for Saturday Night Live and a parody of Nick Nolte’s “Can’t Get It”. Greg later directed two music videos, “Immune System Breakdown” and “Art of Noise”, which aired on MTV. In 1989/90, Greg directed two independent pilots: GT Ink for CBS and The Decadants for Playboy Cable. As a screenwriter, Greg has written twenty feature-length screenplays, three for Paramount, Disney and HBO. Greg wrote and directed a psychological thriller called “Night Walking” in 2003. Greg recently wrote and directed a website called Drama Kings www.dramakings.net. He has produced short films such as “Eat the Rich”, “Super Spy Love” and “Hot Soup”. He is currently producing two feature films: Bofugly and The Sinner.
