In “The Schuyler Sisters,” when she sings about the revolution taking place in New York alongside her sisters Eliza and Peggy, Angelica has her first significant singing role. Later, Elizabeth and her sisters go to a dance that her father, Philip Schuyler, has organized (“A Winter’s Ball”), where she meets Alexander Hamilton and other revolutionary sympathizers. When Eliza sees Alexander, she feels something for him right away, but she doesn’t approach him.

Meanwhile, Angelica talks to Alexander and finds him attractive in both appearance and behavior. Then, seeing the depth of her sister’s affections for Hamilton (“Helpless”), Angelica pretends not to be attracted to him in order to keep her sister happy (“Satisfied”). As a devoted and caring sister, Angelica sings during Eliza and Alexander Hamilton’s wedding, expressing her happiness for her sister even if she will never be content.

Together, Eliza and Angelica persuade Hamilton that his revised financial strategy will be successful and that he should visit Albany. They attempt to persuade Alexander to go on their vacation with them, but he declines. Alexander pays Maria Reynolds’s husband James Reynolds to conceal his liaison with her. The sisters recall George Washington’s assistance for Alexander, and in an attempt to rescue himself, he writes about the episode. Although she helps, Angelica stays by her sister’s side after traveling from London. She returns with her sister upon Hamilton’s passing and remains by her side for the rest of her life. Eliza speaks of how, up until her death in 1814, she relied on her older sister.
