Akaash Singh is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcast host. He is most known for co-hosting the Flagrant podcast with Andrew Schulz and starring in the comedy special Bring Back Apu on YouTube. His career began to take off with numerous shows, including MTV’s Guy Code and Wild’n Out, Netflix’s Brown Nation, and HBO’s The Leftovers.

He starred in Brown Nation an American comedy drama series as Mookie. It follows Hasmukh Parikh a Gujarati Indian American who operates a small IT Consulting company, “Shree Ganesh Computers Limited Inc” in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, New York City, New York. Hasmukh comes from a wealthy family in the peanut business in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Staffed by an uninterested and lazy cast of characters, his business flounders. His home life is not much better. His wife Dimple, a Punjabi Indian American, who is a frustrated and jobless artist, complains constantly about not having enough time to explore her creativity because of the demands of taking care of her dog, Bobby. Hasmukh tries desperately to balance his work and family, but neither seem to have his best interest at heart

The singer began performing stand-up during his senior year of college, when he held his first open mic show in Denton, Texas. In February 2022, Singer released his first feature-length film, Bring Back Apu, to YouTube. The special garnered 1 million views within a week of its release. The singer appeared in five episodes of the comedy series Wild ‘n Out (2014–2015), and served as a creative consultant in 2017. He has had smaller roles, and was a cast member in MTV’s Guy Code Season 5 (2015). In 2016, Singer portrayed Mookie in the Netflix series Brown Country. The singer joins the Flagrant podcast alongside singer Andrew Schultz, with support from AlexxMedia and Mark Gagnon. Originally planned to be a sports podcast, the podcast will focus on current events and pop culture starting in 2022. The podcast releases two episodes per week, with one episode released exclusively to Patreon subscribers
