Peter was born to John Carl Dinklage, an insurance salesman, and Diane Dinklage, an elementary school music teacher of German and Irish ancestry. Along with his parents and elder brother Jonathan, he was raised in Mendham Township’s historic Brookside neighborhood. Of his family, he is the only one who has achondroplasia. He grew up Catholic. Dinklage and his brother entertained the locals with puppet shows when they were kids. Disney retorted that they are approaching these characters differently and are speaking with the dwarfism community. Professional wrestler and federal dwarf actor Hornswoggle took issue with Dinklage’s remarks, saying he was attempting to limit the opportunities open to dwarf actors.
