Thayer played Gretchen Adams, a con artist who was targeting Ethan in the season two The Catch episode The Knock-Off. Ethan presented Gretchen, his new fiancée, who was attempting to launch a fashion company, to Alice. Her new angel investor was providing her with the funds to launch, so she requested Alice and Valerie to investigate him.
They discovered he was the owner of multiple sweatshops. Gretchen was shocked when they told her. Alice and Valerie were worried that Gretchen was exploiting Ethan for financial gain because he contributed the funds for her debut. Gretchen became enraged when Alice approached Ethan with her worries because she thought Alice was merely attempting to win Ethan back.
Tessa discovered, though, that Gretchen’s ideas were all truly the work of other designers.
