Career
Elliott began doing stand-up in New York after earning his degree from the National Theater Institute, where he later established himself as a mainstay at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She acted in Steven Soderbergh’s film Mosaic (2017) and starred in Fort Tilden (2015), which won the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW. In addition, she starred as tennis player Julie Heldman in Battle of the Sexes (2017) and in the HBO comedy Silicon Valley.
The short comedy Affections, which marked Elliott’s directorial debut, debuted at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and later took home the Special Jury Prize at the Independent Film Festival Boston. Clara’s Ghost, her feature-length directorial debut, debuted at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and stars Paula Nierdert Elliott, her mother, and Haley Joel Osment. Her sister and father, who both worked at Saturday Night Live, were also featured in the film, which was shot at their Old Lyme, Connecticut, home.
