Ken Foree is an American actor best known for playing the protagonist Peter in the horror film Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Roger Rockmore on the Nickelodeon sitcom Kenan & Kel (1996-2000). He started performing in the 1970s, featuring in films including The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings.

He started his career in off-Broadway theater and worked as an assistant manager at a restaurant in Greenwich Village to support himself during his salad days. Ken made his cinematic debut with The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976). He has now developed a sizable roster of frequently strong and commanding characters on either side of the law in both films and television.

He began acting in the 1970s, playing in films like The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings, The Wanderers, Dawn of the Dead, and Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. He also appeared in the movies Knightriders, From Beyond, and The Dentist. In 1995, he appeared on an episode of The X-Files. On Nickelodeon’s sitcom Kenan & Kel, Foree played Kenan and Kyra’s father, Roger Rockmore. He played Charlie Altamont in the 2005 film The Devil’s Rejects, co-starring with Sid Haig and Bill Moseley as Haig’s adopted brother. In 2007, he starred in Rob Zombie’s remake of the 1978 blockbuster Halloween.Ken Foree appeared as himself in the 2008 novel Bad Moon Rising.

Foree is one of several real-life horror stars who are in the fictional town of Pine Deep when monsters attack. Other notable figures include Tom Savini, Jim O’Rear, Brinke Stevens, James Gunn, Stephen Susco, Debbie Rochon, Joe Bob Briggs, and Mem Shannon. The horror-comedy film Shaun of the Dead makes reference to Foree Electronics, as the film’s main character works there. Foree hosts his own horror festival. The inaugural event, known as Foree Fest, took place in the United Kingdom in 2007. The second tournament took place in October 2009, followed by the third in 2013.
