Khalil Kain is an American actor well-known for his roles on the UPN/CW sitcom Girlfriends, in the 1992 crime drama Juice and for his performances in the Tiger Woods Story and in the 2001 horror movie Bones. He has also had prominent parts in movies such as Love Jones and For Colored Girls.

Girlfriends
He appeared as Darnell Leroy Wilkes, Maya’s husband in the American sitcom television series Girlfriends. He and Maya married at an early age and had a kid named Jabari. Darnell formerly worked as an airport luggage carrier before becoming a technician at a local car repair business. He formerly worked as a NASCAR pit crew mechanic. Following Maya’s encounter with Stan Wright, the two divorced.
In previous seasons, he felt threatened by Maya’s friendship with Joan, Toni, and Lynn, but he eventually put his concerns aside and made friends with them. Following his divorce, he met a lady named Lena (Chenoa Maxwell), whom Maya detested since she still had feelings for Darnell. At Lena and Darnell’s wedding, Maya confessed her love for him. In Season 6, the two reunite and resume their joint living arrangements. At the end of Season 7, Darnell accepts an offer to purchase back his garage and get Maya and Jabari a new home in Los Angeles. Following their miscarriage, the couple considers adopting a baby girl.
Bones
He appeared as Patrick Peet in the 2001 American supernatural black horror film Bones. In 1979, corrupt cop Lupovich and narcotics pusher Eddie Mack murder Jimmy Bones, a numbers runner. His associates, Jeremiah and Shotgun, stabbed him to death, leaving his exquisite brownstone building as his grave. Twenty-two years later, four teenagers, Patrick, Bill, Tia, and Maurice, purchase the Bones house and convert it into a nightclub.
Tia discovers a black dog, Jimmy’s spiritual form, and Jimmy is gradually revived. Patrick, Pearl, and her daughter Cynthia discover Jimmy’s body and remain silent about the crime. Patrick, Bill, and Tia’s stepfather’s father, Jeremiah, learns their plan to operate the club in Bones’ old building. The black dog kills Maurice, and Jimmy sets fire to the club to scare away clubgoers.
Career
Kain initially appears in the 1992 film Juice as Raheem. His subsequent roles included Roosevelt Nathaniel Hobbs in the 1994 comedy drama Renaissance Man and Marvin Cox in the 1997 romantic comedy Love Jones. Kain played golfer Tiger Woods in Showtime’s The Tiger Woods Story. In 2001, he collaborated again with Juice director Ernest Dickerson in Bones (starring Snoop Dogg). Kain appeared in the 2003 blaxploitation biopic Baadasssss!.
From season 2 to the end of the UPN/CW television series Girlfriends, Kain played Darnell Wilkes, Maya’s (portrayed by Golden Brooks) husband. Kain replaced Flex Alexander, who departed Juice to feature in the sitcom One on One. Other television roles include Suddenly Susan, Friends, Blue Bloods, Living Single, Moesha, Angel, and Sister, Sister. He also played Bill in the film For Colored Girls (2010). Khalil Kain directed and acts in The Millennial, alongside Erica Mena, Terayle Hill, and Terri Vaughn. The Millennial had its world premiere in August 2021 at the Hip Hop Film Festival.
