Biography
Audra McDonald is an American actress and vocalist best renowned for her work on Broadway, where she has won six Tony Awards, the most performance victories of any performer, and the only person to win in all four acting categories. In addition to her six Tony Awards, she has won two Grammy Awards and an Emmy. She received the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama in 2016 and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2017.

McDonald became good friends with Kahn after working together on a TV pilot, and she discovered she was pregnant on the same day she performed at Kahn’s burial. McDonald and Donovan got divorced in 2009. She married Will Swenson on October 6, 2012. She gave birth to their daughter Sally James McDonald-Swenson on October 19, 2016. She is the stepmother to Swenson’s two sons from his previous marriage.

Private Practice
McDonald played Naomi Bennett on Private Practice from seasons one to four. She repeated her role in the series finale, In Which We Say Goodbye. She also appears in the season five Grey’s Anatomy episode “Before and After.” Naomi Bennett is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. She married Sam Bennett twice and has a daughter, Maya, and is expecting another child. She is Addison Montgomery’s best friend and a founding partner of Oceanside Wellness Group.
William White and Naomi were having dinner when he mentioned that he intended to start a successful medical practice and wanted Naomi to run it. She originally denied the offer, but William informed her that he had conducted research and discovered that she was one of the greatest reproductive doctors, and she had established one of the first whole wellness medical offices. She said she was not interested.
Later, William met her at the practice and invited her to lunch, where Naomi told him that the practice was her “baby” and that the individuals who worked there were like family. William admired it, but he stated that he would return in two weeks to make an official proposal to her. Naomi later told Addison that she had been offered Charlotte King’s job at Pacific Wellcare Center. Addison was astonished and stated that Oceanside was Naomi’s practice, but that it was no longer hers due to recent events, and that she was considering the offer.
The Good Fight
She played Liz Lawrence on The Good Wife and in The Good Fight, for which she got three Critics Choice Award nominations. Liz Reddick (previously Lawrence and Boseman) is a tough United States attorney and Adrian Boseman’s ex-wife. In season four, episode sixteen (Runnin’ with the Devil) of The Good Wife, she is seen to have a friendly rivalry with Alicia Florrick that stems from Law School. She returns to The Good Fight as a series regular.
At her father’s funeral, many approached her to pay their condolences. Someone from the Department of Justice informs her that due of a tweet she sent criticizing President Donald Trump, she will not be permitted to return to work following her father’s funeral. She plans to open her own business and take her father’s clients with her. Diane, on the other hand, believes that making her a name partner is a superior idea. Liz agrees to be named partner, and her father’s clients remain Bozeman, Reddick, and Lockhart.
Ruth visits the company shortly after becoming a name partner and requests that they devise an impeachment strategy for Donald Trump. Liz recommends that the firm consist of archetypal personalities, with Liz as the furious black woman and Diane as the compassionate call me white woman. Ruth decides to hire Liz, and only Liz, to join a group of lawyers from six leading legal firms to impeach Donald Trump.
