Jeanne Zelasko is an American journalist and sportscaster who has worked for “The Beast” AM980 KFWB and Fox Sports West in Los Angeles County, California. Prior to that post, Zelasko had a somewhat extended career working for Fox Sports as a reporter and analyst for numerous shows, as well as reporting for MLB Network and ESPN.

Career

Earlier in his career, Zelasco hosted the San Diego Padres pregame show with Southern California regional sports network Prime Sports West (now Fox Sports Net West). During his tenure as a special correspondent for the network, he covered a variety of sports, including the NFL, NHL, college basketball and championship games. Zerasco was hired by Fox Sports in 1996 as part of the first broadcast team to promote national sports for the newly formed Fox Sports Network, and also served as anchor of Fox NFL Sunday. In February 2001, Zelasco joined Fox NASCAR as an announcer. In June of that year, he became the host of Major League Baseball on Fox alongside analyst Kevin Kennedy. The Fox network has canceled Major League Baseball’s first game of the 2008 season (based on ratings).

In April 2009, Zelasko appeared on the MLB Tonight special on the MLB Network; On May 20, 2009, she made her MLB play-by-play debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers as the first woman to call a Dodgers game. Zelasco spent the remainder of the 2009 season working with former Dodger Mark Sweeney, who became an analyst and handled the network broadcast of the Dodgers home game every Wednesday. In May 2013, Zelasko began covering the NCAA Softball Championship for ESPN. In 1997, she starred in the fourth season of the CBS television series Diagnosis: Murder. In 2002, she made a guest appearance as a female news anchor in the Swiss film “Bird’s Eye” and as a reporter in the movie “The Fever”. She clerked for Judge Joe Brown from 2011 to 2013.
