She interned at John Calipari Pro Camps and ESPN Lexington, worked for the university’s sports department during her senior year, and wrote for the Wildcat Blue Nation website. Gough spent a year on the air at WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, Kentucky, then two years in Louisville, Kentucky, before moving to Savannah. During her time in Louisville, she discovered text exchanges between then-Louisville head coach Rick Pitino and Jim Gatto, global marketing director of basketball at Adidas, about the 2017-18 NCAA Division I men’s basketball corruption scandal, in which Pitino asked Gatto for a pair of Yeezys. Pitino lost his job as a result of the affair, While reporting the 2021 Georgia–Clemson game.
She returned to Lexington to work for WKYT-TV in the fall of 2022. She tested positive with COVID while covering the RBC Heritage golf tournament on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, one of the first sports events to reopen in the US following the COVID-19 pandemic. She eventually sought treatment in an emergency department for the sickness and spent 11 days in the hospital. She had her appendix and a portion of her intestines removed. She shared her COVID experience on social media. Gough enjoys all University of Kentucky sports, as well as the Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Lakers.
