Tara Lynne Barr is an American actor most known for her role as Roxy in the dark comedy film God Bless America, for which she received a Young Artist Award nomination for most Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, and as Laura Meyers in the Hulu comedy-drama Casual.

Barr grew up in Fountain Valley. Barr’s parents, long-time Southern California Edison Company employees, enrolled her and her older sister in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley’s before- and after-school care programs. Barr’s sister appeared in multiple children’s theater shows when the club launched its Clubhouse Theater program, which inspired Barr to pursue a career in acting.
Barr attended Fountain Valley Public Schools and graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 2011. She was accepted to Chapman University’s College of Performing Arts on the Dean’s Scholarship, but she dropped out after a year to pursue her career full-time.

She appeared as Roxanne “Roxy” Harmon in the 2011 American action black comedy God Bless America.Frank Murdoch, a middle-aged insurance salesman, is dissatisfied with America’s decadence, which is fostered by pop culture, television, the Internet and talk radio. He fantasizes about killing his neighbors and their spoilt daughter, Ava.
Frank is fired and finds out he has a fatal brain tumor. He watches American Superstarz, a talent program starring Steven Clark, an intellectually handicapped guy, and plans to shoot himself. He steals a neighbor’s car and travels to Chloe’s school, shooting her through the window.
Roxanne “Roxy” Harmon, a fellow student, applauds Frank and recommends they murder Chloe’s parents. They kill Chloe’s parents and watch a video about the Mỹ Lai Massacre. Frank and Roxy murder many individuals, including a boorish man, far-right religious protestors, and a political analyst. Frank saves his ex-wife’s fiancé and proposes they relocate to France to avoid prosecution.
Frank’s doctor confirms that he does not have a tumor, but Roxy’s newfound freedom is shattered when a guy mistakenly believes she is an underage prostitute. He vents his rage on a man who attempted to recruit Roxy for sex. Roxy admits to Frank that she wants to escape a life of conformity and departs in the pickup truck of the man he just killed. Frank purchases an assault rifle and obtains admission to the American Superstarz studio, killing three audience members and a judge. He delivers a speech about the terrible behavior encouraged in American society, revealing that Steven attempted suicide because they mocked him. He shoots Steven, the judges, and several audience members before being shot dead by police.
Casual
