Between 2009 and 2012, Saincome published a zine named Punks! Punks! Punks!, with six editions. The zine, which had a print run of roughly 50 copies every issue, featured interviews with Ian Mackaye, Henry Rollins, Lars Frederiksen, and other punk scene figures. Following his journalism degree, he worked as a freelancer for Vice[2] before becoming the music editor for SF Weekly in 2016. As a freelancer, he wrote several viral articles, including “Meet the Man Who Had Sex with a Dolphin (and Wrote a Book About It)” for the Weekly. During this period, he developed the concept of “punk comedy journalism” as a career.
Saincome, his brother Ed Saincome, and Bill Conway cofounded the satirical website The Hard Times in November 2014 with a $800 budget. Since its inception, the site has expanded its offerings to include live events and a podcast network. The podcast, named The Hard Times Podcast, features Saincome and Conway in interviews and discussions. In 2019, Saincome co-wrote The Hard Times: The First 40 Years, which was followed by a nationwide book tour. He also cofounded OutVoice, a payment platform for freelancers. The Hard Times was acquired by Project M in 2020 for more than $2 million, allowing Saincome to retain ownership of Hard Drive. He also remained with Hard Times.

In 2009, he and his brother Ed cofounded the straight edge hardcore band Zero Progress, for whom Saincome served as frontman under the stage name “The Champ” – a satirical character based on conventional hardcore frontmen’s machism. After the band disbanded in 2014, Saincome formed the straight edge band PURE. He has also worked as a booker in the San Francisco region for hardcore and punk gigs.
