She appeared as Lacey/Lacy, Bridget’s friend who appears in three episodes in the American sitcom television series 8 Simple Rules. From September 17, 2002 to April 15, 2005, the show aired on ABC. The first season revolved with Paul being left in charge of the children after Cate accepts a full-time job as a nurse, with a comic emphasis on his frequently stringent rules about his daughters and dating. The series’ title and idea were inspired by W. Bruce Cameron’s book 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.
While 8 Simple Rules had been renewed for a second season and filming had begun, Ritter’s untimely death on September 11, 2003, put the series in jeopardy. The series resumed after a brief absence and murdered off his character. Cate’s father, Jim Egan, and her nephew, C.J. Barnes, played by James Garner and David Spade, respectively. Because of low ratings, ABC canceled 8 Simple Rules after three seasons in May 2005.
