Eduardo Xol Career
At the age of ten, Xol was one of the youngest musicians scouted and chosen to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. By the age of 13, he had also traveled on an exchange program to give a series of piano recitals at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico. Xol joined the Braand[check spelling] Theatre Company in his teens to perform at The Palm Beach Club in Cannes, France. Xol made his feature film debut in Zoot Suit with Edward James Olmos while dancing with the Mexican Dance Theatre of Los Angeles at the time. He enrolled in the theatre program at the University of California, Los Angeles. Xol directed and produced several musical theatre comedy revues while there.
Xol traveled south to Latin America, where he worked in music and television under the stage name “Edi Xol” in Mexico. He appeared in several internationally syndicated telenovelas, including Acapulco, cuerpo y alma, Sentimientos Ajenos, and La Jaula de Oro, as well as producing music and videos. His production company collaborated with BMG U.S. Latin to produce his first solo album, La Pasión, and the first single “Somos” (“We Are”) received a Lo Nuestro Award for Video of the Year. He represented the United States at the Via Del Mar International Music Festival in Chile. Xol was soon featured in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Somos magazines as one of Latin America’s most eligible and beautiful bachelors.
Xol returned to the United States in 1998 to apply his experience in musical composition and entertainment production to the world of lifestyle and design. He started spending time with his father while learning how to care for bonsai trees. This work with plants cemented his design aesthetic and life philosophy. During Season 2 of ABC’s internationally syndicated TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Xol joined the cast as a co-star. On Tuesday, August 7, 2007, TV Land began airing series reruns. CMT also broadcasts the show in syndication.
Eduardo Xol is a co-founder of the ALUMI Media Group, a non-profit organization that provides alternative learning through media arts to students in underserved Los Angeles communities. As part of the Band Together for Lupus Campaign, Xol collaborated with the Lupus Foundation of America to raise public awareness. Monica, Xol’s sister, has had lupus for the past ten years. He recently created a garden oasis for his sister as part of his Hayneedle web series. Xol is a supporter of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and has appeared in public service announcements in both English and Spanish as part of the “Be an Ally & a Friend” public education campaign (along with actresses Sofia Vergara and Zoe Saldana).
Xol has also performed a public service announcement for the Michigan Humane Society and collaborated with The Trevor Project, Starkey Hearing Foundation, and Make-A-Wish Foundation. With partnerships with companies such as Ford Motor Company, Sears, Waterford Crystal, The Occasion Group/Taylor Corporation, and DirecTV, Xol has become a voice in both the Hispanic and English language markets.

Eduardo’s first book, Home Sense, was published by HarperCollins in the spring of 2007, and it was named Best Self-Help Book at the 2008 International Latino Book Awards.
