After SD-6’s demise, he was hired by the CIA and assisted them in numerous difficult situations, either through incredibly intricate technical hacking or the design of helpful yet bizarre devices.

Marshall, initially misidentified as a black ops division, is recruited by the CIA when SD-6 is destroyed. He quickly adapts and becomes an important member of the team. Marshall meets Carrie Bowman, an NSA agent with similar geeky inclinations, and they marry and have a son, Mitchell. Marshall’s persona develops significantly as he realizes that most people do not grasp quantum entanglement and offers operational ideas. Lauren Reed shoots and gravely injures him in the third season. By the fourth season, he has fully healed and has been recruited into the CIA’s new Authorized Personnel Only (APO) black ops subsidiary.
