Moret has covered numerous major California criminal cases, including the Night Stalker trial, the Billionaire Boys Club murder trial, the O. J. Simpson criminal and civil trials, the Scott Peterson double murder trial, and the Michael Jackson molestation trial, for which he served as the broadcast legal analyst for numerous television and radio networks. Moret was probably best known before joining Inside Edition for anchoring CNN’s coverage of the O. J. Simpson criminal trial in 1995, as well as hosting the long-running Showbiz Today and co-anchoring The World Today. After leaving CNN, Moret hosted a number of specials for ABC and co-hosted the Academy Awards pre-show for three years.
He has also appeared as a guest anchor on Los Angeles’ KTLA Morning News and Fox 5’s Good Day New York. His first job as an on-air reporter was at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Moret delivered the UCLA Department of Communication Studies’ Commencement Address in 2004, after which he was invited to serve as a visiting professor. He is also a program graduate. Moret is a California Bar member who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Keri and their three children. Moret’s first book, The Last Day of My Life, is an inspirational memoir published by Phoenix Books and released on January 5, 2010.
