Rodriguez was cast as Luke Alvez, an FBI Fugitive Task Force Agent who joins the BAU in Criminal Minds’ eleventh season, after Shemar Moore departed from his role as SSA Derek Morgan. Luke Alvez is a Supervisory Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Behavioral Analysis Unit who joined the squad at the beginning of Season Twelve when Derek Morgan resigned.
In “The Storm” and “The Crimson King,” Alvez assisted in the capture of eight of thirteen serial murderers who escaped jail following a terrorist strike.
