Colantoni appeared in the television series Remedy. From 1997 to 2003, he played Elliot DiMauro on Just Shoot Me!, and he played Sgt. Greg Parker in the Canadian TV police drama Flashpoint. (also broadcast on ION Television in the United States, and originally on CBS). Colantoni’s older brother, a Toronto police officer for the past 30 years, counseled him on how to play the part. Colantoni played Keith Mars on Veronica Mars for four seasons, a role he repeated in the 2014 film and the 2019 Hulu revival. Colantoni also appeared as crime leader Carl Elias on Person of Interest and as Vincent Ingram (Traveller 001) on Travellers.
He is most known for his roles as Elliot DiMauro in Just Shoot Me!, Keith Mars on Veronica Mars, Louis Lutz on the short-lived sitcom Hope & Gloria, criminal boss Carl Elias on Person of Interest, and Sergeant Greg Parker on Flashpoint. He has also appeared in films such as The Wrong Guy, Galaxy Quest, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Contagion, and A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, as well as in television shows such as Monk, Numb3rs, Party Down, Stargate SG-1, and Bones.
